In the 1990s, and early 2000s when it was a commercial product, Lightzone was billed as an attempt to bring the zone system to digital photography. I'm pretty sure I wrote about it here, just about everything I do photographically gets logged in here on the DPR Forums somehow (some of which I'm proud of, some of which, not so much! The internet is forever, and so can be our embarrassment!) I liked Lightzone well enough, but I liked the results I got with the Raw development of ACDSee more. I last used Lightzone about 3 years ago, when I was looking to replace Lightroom. I thought Lightzone used the Zone system, but the Wikipedia page mentions nothing about this. Did you use it for an extended period of time? Or did you post about it long ago on this or another forum? Google is your friend, but in the end, the two best FREE software titles are Gimp and Lightzone. Lightzone is older than Lightroom and offers a unique take of raw development and bit mapped editing.
